04/27/2008: Ryan: Jersey DB adds to offer list
Last fall coach Dan Spittal's Eastern Vikings finished the 2007 season with a 9-2 record due to the efforts of two-way standout Logan Ryan. The sensational defensive-back who also shines at the quarterback position is up to seven scholarship offers. "Things are heating-up for me," said Ryan.

04/23/2008: Riddick, Stockton: ND bound
They both had heard and seen enough and it was only due time before two of New Jersey's premiere football recruits for the Class of 2009 were going to make their college decision. New Jersey's Theo Riddick (Immaculata - RB) and Tyler Stockton (Hun School - DL) have both decided to make South Bend, Indiana their future home following their high school careers.

04/17/2008: BIGTIME-BOUND Savage selects RUTGERS
Last January it was Piscataway (NJ) High School All American offensive lineman making Rutgers University his collegiate choice during the 2007 Army All American Game, but on Friday in front of a great deal of media, coaches, fans and friends at Cardinal O'Hara High School in PA - it was another ALL AMERICAN who chose the Scarlet Knights. The 2008 Army All American Game-bound QB will head to Rutgers on May 8 to take part in the 2008 BIGTIME FOOTBALL SHOWCASE to compete amongst the best across the region.

04/15/2008: DELAWARE'S BROWN: Up to 13 offers
It seems like it was just yesterday when Concord High School (Delaware) junior receiver/defensive-back Justin Brown was on the verge of receiving his first, second and third scholarship offer - but all of that is now history. Brown, one of the nations top receivers and students, now holds 13 offers and is quickly closing in on his 14th and 15th. Brown will be making a pit-stop at Rutgers on May 8 to take part in the 2008 BIGTIME FOOTBALL SHOWCASE which will be aired live on CBS College Sports with Tom Lemming.

04/09/2008: Jersey's Brown delivers flash and skills
The Eastern Region has quite a few well-known commodities at the WR position for the Class of 2009. PA's JeRon Stokes, Delaware's Justin Brown, PA's Jaleel Clark, Virginia's Logan Heastie, NJ's Shawney Kersey, CT's Joshua Adams, DC's Derrell Person are all amongst the nations best receivers and now a literally unknown receiver from New Jersey has plans on adding his name to that list. 03/31/2008: A Jersey TOP LB visits South Bend

03/27/2008: Good Times in Irvington: Evan's DUO
The Irvington Blue Knights (Essex County, New Jersey) finished the 2007 season with a 9-1 record and a key part of that team returns in 2008 for coach Darnell Grant. Junior Joshua Evans is the sensational quarterback/free safety being recruited and offered by programs from across the nation and Rashon Evans (left) returns as one of the nation's best running-backs despite being a sophomore. 03/25/2008: RB Fitzgerald is a true player
Last fall, New Jersey's 2008 recruiting class was blessed a few backs who had the skills to enter the end zone from anywhere on the field and the Class of 2009 and 2010 will have a few more who can do just the same if not more. 03/24/2008: New York lineman is multi-talented
Xaverian High School (Brooklyn, NY) has at least two recruits for the Class of 2009 who have the talent and skills to garner Division I scholarships. One of those players is a 6-foot-6/300 pound lineman who recently put on a show at Giants Stadium on both sides of the ball.

Year in and out the Eastern Region has it share of football recruits who are listed amongst the nations best and the year 2008 is no different by any means. Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Maryland, the District of Columbia and even Connecticut are always destined to have recruits representing their states in a high fashion - but what about New Hampshire? This past weekend Piscataway High School (NJ) was represented quite well at the 13th Annual Chuck Mound Challenge with athletic players testing and competing against others from across the region. One of the Chiefs standout players was a junior defensive-back who was overlooked by All Area committees last fall despite having a sensational year. 03/07/2008: Fortt, Wood: Saving the best for last
You hear about New Jersey and Pennsylvania having all the top football talent in the Eastern Region with New York adding their share of some gems in every annual recruiting class - but what about Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire? Chuck Mound held his 2008 PRO DAYS in a variety of locations throughout the region this past month bringing in small groups in finding that next STAR and Elite College Combine invitee. The last stop for the 2008 circuit was held at Hillhouse High School (New Haven, Conn.) and the event brought out the best with the likes of Stamford (Conn.) sophomore LB Khairi Fortt (left), Proctor Academy's (NH) junior LB Spencer Wood, Buckingham, Browne & Nichols (MA) athlete Steven Grassa and a pair of backs with 4.3 speed.
